Ducklings 2 for 3 & 4 Year Old Children
All children are entitled to 15 hours free nursery education the term after they are 3 years. Nursery is open 8.30am to 3.00pm. With an option for parents to pay for breakfast club and /or afterschool club from 8.00am to 4.30pm Monday - Thursday and 8.00am to 4.00pm on Fridays.
Parents can select the sessions they prefer for their child.
Either:
- 5 mornings - 8.30am to 11.30am
- 5 afternoons - 12.00pm to 3.00pm
- 2 full days and 1 morning or afternoon session
We provide 30 hours free education and care for children of eligible working parents and offer additional sessions at £5.00 an hour to all our children.
Ducklings 2 Room
There are lots of different areas of provision including:
- music
- creative
- messy play
- maths
- writing & drawing
- construction & small world
- roleplay
- computer
- reading
- outdoor play
These areas are enhanced with exciting and new resources and activities to match each topic. See our curriculum pages to find out more about what the children will be learning.
We also share our fantastic physical play room with Ducklings 1 so our children can enjoy physical play and learning everyday whatever the weather.
A Typical Day in Ducklings 2
Nursery begins with a carpet time each day. When the teacher introduces new learning and the focus for the day.
Children have free choice time both indoors and out, and are invited by staff to engage in targets learning opportunities and focus groups.
Children have a snack each day.
The children go back to the carpet and enjoys stories, songs and rhymes at end of each session. The children enjoy these activities so much they can often be seen engaging with books and music independently during a session.
